WHY ORGANIC COTTON? Organic cotton is grown on ecological farms that follow clear rules for organic food and cotton production, from seeds to the final production of the fabric, including sewing. The use of toxic chemicals during planting or production is prohibited, as they may harm workers and the environment. Genetically modified organisms are also banned. Organic cotton clothes do not cause allergic reactions. Unlike synthetic materials (polyester, fleece), organic cotton does not release plastic microfibers during washing. As sewage treatment facilities cannot handle these microfibers, they end up in rivers and seas, contaminating water and soil, damaging animals and sometimes ending up on our plates.
