What is Plastic Free July?
Plastic Free July is a global movement that started in 2011 in an effort to reduce plastic pollution. Millions of people are taking part in the challenge by reducing or eliminating plastic use in July for cleaner roads, oceans and communities.
Do you want to participate in Plastic Free July by choosing to refuse single-use plastics for 31 days? As ecosophers we invite you to take the challenge and we are here to give you ideas and advice!
Why join?
Every year, nearly 13 million tons of plastic end up on the seabed. 99% fossil fuels such as gas and oil are used in the production of plastic, so its use contributes to climate change and leads to health risks. It doesn't just create garbage, it pollutes the environment and our bodies from its creation to its destruction.
A Plastic Free July is not enough to solve the problem but.....In 2021, it is estimated that 140 million people participated resulting in a total of 300 million kilograms of plastic being avoided. Plus, PFJ is a chance to learn and try out swaps that we'll keep for the whole year!
Ecosophy's first PFJ!
Here at ecosophy we want to support anyone who wants to participate in PFJ.
For the entire month of July, we will share on our social media daily a swap that we ourselves have made and recommend.
At ecosophy.gr you will find products that we believe belong to the "basics" for a plastic-free life at special prices.
Finally, we will invite you to share with us your own changes in non-plastic products and thus you will have the chance to win amazing gifts that we have chosen in collaboration with Bambaw.
The ecosophy team is always available for questions or ideas regarding a plastic-free life.
